On 21st December 2011, Immingham Town Council & One Voice pledged their support to Oasis Academy students Tom Horton & Adam Farrow's campaign to make Immingham a Fairtrade Town.

Being a Fair Trade town means that residents and retailers are encouraged to buy and use Fairtrade products, giving the suppliers and producers a much fairer deal on the products that they work to produce. It is a common misconception that Fairtrade is more expensive, it is simply not the case and most products that we already buy are actually Fairtrade. This campaign is to raise awareness of Fairtrade in Immingham and to get the local residents to support the campaign and buy Fairtrade.
